Kerry Eaton is a partner at Drinkwater Eaton Law Offices and focuses her practice in the areas of corporate/business law, intellectual property law and tax-exempt/non-profit entities. She works closely with both for-profit and non-profit businesses. Her relationship with her for-profit business clients generally begins during start-up, but continues for the life of the business. This includes contract negotiations and drafting, development of policies and procedures, acquisition and protection of intellectual property. Her work with non-profits includes assistance with policies and procedures, implementing necessary corporate governance and obtaining tax-exempt status. Prior to her practice as an attorney, she was a CPA, focusing on audit and attest services with international gaming companies at Arthur Andersen LLP. In addition, Kerry also worked as an internal auditor with Harrah’s Entertainment, Inc. This experience provides unique insight, which she still utilizes today in her practice. Kerry graduated from the University of Nevada with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a major in accounting. She attended William & Mary School of Law where she obtained her Juris Doctor. Kerry was very excited to return to her hometown of Reno after graduating law school to assist Nevada businesses. It is a very exciting time to be involved in Nevada’s community of businesses. In addition to her practice, Kerry serves on non-profit boards and volunteers her time to community projects. These volunteer activities have included volunteering as a coach to local high school track and field teams, raising money for non-profits, teaching seminars on legal matters and judging business competitions. Currently, Kerry is a Board member for the Nevada State Board of Accountancy and Truckee Meadows Tomorrow. When she is not working, she loves spending time with her family. Bonnie was a partner at one of Reno’s largest law firms prior to becoming a small business owner and serial entrepreneur herself. She practices in the areas of business and corporate law, employment law, and intellectual property law, and Bonnie and the firm pride themselves in provding their clients with excellent customer service and straight-forward communication. Drinkwater Eaton Law Offices’ attorneys and staff endeavor to provide clients with prompt, efficient and cost-effective service in even the most complicated matters. They also tailor their approach to address the practical goals and concerns of clients and finding the fastest and least expensive resolution to a problem. Bonnie, a native Nevadan, is an active member of the community. Her activities range from being a board member for The Community Foundation of Northern Nevada, to chairing the Advisory Board for the Nevada Small Business Development Center and suporting more and assisting than 60 local non-profits. She has received several awards for her volunteerism including an award from the Washoe County Bar Association for exceptional pro bono efforts. She welcomes the opportunity to educate others in her areas of practice through speaking engagements, training sessions and writing articles. She holds dual degrees (cum laude) in Finance and International Management from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. and a law degree (cum laude) from the University of Notre Dame. She was admitted into the Nevada Bar in 1994 and the Pennsylvania Bar in 1995 and is a member of the Intellectual Property and Business Law Sections of the American Bar Association; the State Bar of Nevada; and the Washoe County Bar Association. Bonnie is wife to Michael and mom to Katherine and Thomas, both college students.
